Day 1: Athens – Kalambaka (Meteora)
Depart through Thebes, make a short stop in Levadia and then onto Arachova for Delphi, known in ancient times as the navel of the world. Two hours free time or take the opportunity to visit the archaeological site and the Museum of Delphi (entrance fees and guide not included). In the afternoon depart through the Central Greece cities of Lamia and Triakala to Kalambaka, a small town situated at the foot of Meteora, a group of gigantic rock towers with ageold monasteries nestled on top. Dinner is included at the hotel and stay overnight in Kalambaka.
Day 2: Kalambaka (Meteora) – Athens
Today you have the opportunity to visit Meteora, these magical Monasteries perched upon the huge rock formations also hold exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. After the tour, we will return to Athens in the evening via Trikala, Lamia and Thermopylos (Leonida's monument). |
